SoFiN at ICTON 2026

SoFiN was represented at the 26th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON 2026), held in Prague in July 2026, with contributions highlighting recent developments in fiber sensing and Digital Twin technologies.

Lukas Bernhardt from FAU presented the work “Concept and Implementation of a Digital Twin for Optical Fiber Sensors and Telecom Fiber Infrastructure”, carried out within the SoFiN and ICON projects.

Esther Renner from FAU delivered an invited talk titled “Smart and Compact Fiber Sensor Systems: Fiber sensing using fiber Bragg gratings and Raman scattering’’.

She also participated as a panelist in the “Own the Horizon: Women Leading Europe” discussion, part of the Strategy, Diversity & Horizon Europe Session.
