M37 Consortium Meeting
As we return from the holiday period, we share some highlights from the SoFiN physical consortium meeting, held in December 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The meeting was hosted by TELE2, and we would like to sincerely thank Marko Tikas for the excellent organisation and warm hospitality throughout the entire meeting.
As Coordinator, CYRIC led the discussions at a key stage of the project, as SoFiN approaches its final phase, with completion foreseen in 2026.
The consortium focused on:
• Interrogator system integration and demonstration setup
• Progress reporting across technical and management work packages
• Updates on the Software enabled Fiber Optic Multisensing Network (SoFiN), including laboratory and field demonstration activities
This meeting marked an important step towards final system validation and upcoming demonstrations.
Special acknowledgement goes to the project coordination and management team, with Nicolas Constantinou as Project Manager, working closely alongside Ronis Maximidis, Alessandro Gusti and Giorgos Gerontidis, whose contributions continue to support the project’s progress.
We would also like to acknowledge the strong collaboration of all project partners:
FAU, ADTRAN, DTU, NKT Photonics, TELE2, ENERGINET and NDLGO-WATER.
