ECOC Completion
The SoFiN Project participation was completed with yet another talk at one of the Workshops titled Digital Signal Processing for Optical Fiber Sensing under Signal processing for optical communication and computing where our colleague Dr. Roman Ermakov from DTU, addressed the key question “How to Model Temperature Perturbations in φ-OTDR?” A new approach for generating labeled data for machine learning based on a physical model of φ-OTDR under temperature variations was presented as an ongoing work stemming from the joint efforts of our SoFiN project partners DTU and Adtran.
To sum it all up, from demonstrating a quantum limit for temperature-change estimation for coherent phase-OTDR as part of the work delivered by partner DTU, and wavelength-swept interrogation demonstrated at different temperatures using coherent correlation OTDR combined with accelerated hybrid laser tuning delivered as a joint work by partners Adtran and NKT Photonics, to a newly proposed physics-based modelling algorithm for φ-OTDR under dynamic temperature variations as a result of the above mentioned work by colleagues at DTU and jointly contributed by Adtran; Indeed, a strong SoFiN Project foothold at ECOC 2025, with many congrats for all great project achievements and an amazing collaboration between partners overall. 🎉
