ECOC 2025
An exciting week at the 51st European Conference on Optical Communication, ECOC 2025, 28th Sep. – 02 Oct., with a strong participation of the SoFiN Project. Important work developed as part of the project was presented as two papers; one by Adtran and NKT demonstrating the hybrid piezoelectric and thermal laser tuning to fastly interrogate an array of FBGs with 4405 gratings, jointly developed and submitted by the two key project partners and colleagues from FBGS Technologies GmbH and presented by our expert colleague Dr. André Sandmann, Adtran Networks SE. And another one delivered at the same session Advanced Fiber Sensing Methods, on the work developed by expert colleagues from the Machine Learning in Photonics Systems team of Prof. Darko Zibar at Technical University of Denmark, Department of Electrical and Photonics Engineering, and presented by our colleague Huwei Wang to demonstrate for the first time, a quantum limit for temperature-change estimation for coherent phase-OTDR sensing-systems.
Congratulations to all partners.
